I have two questions, how do i get the black bars on the top and bottom of the video that im creating. Plus when using my digital camcorder, the canon elura, i noticed that in premiere the audio doesnt show up, the bar is there but there is no sound and the line is flat. The audio shows up in other programs and when its being played but it doesnt show in premiere. HELP!!!!

Applying a clip filter is the only way I know of to create black bars in Premiere. You will have to calculate the percentage with a calculator. For instance 13% on the top and bottom is the closest to 16:9 ratio.

If may calculations are correct 18% cliping on the top and bottom is nearest to 2.1:1 ratio.

Actually you could always import a video resolution PSD image which was simply transparent with the black bars on the top and bottom. It would then be easier to get the ratios bang on. Even a black and white image or a blank image with an alpha channel would work. I had to do this once when I applied a transparency effect to a sequence as well as the clip filter and black bars became see-through.
